I vote leaving the game the way it is, but if we're talking about reducing the number of plays and the amount of contact the players take, why not leave the rules the same while shortening the quarters to 12 minutes? That way you don't ruin the 2 minute offense, the ability for college teams to come from behind, or anything else that makes college football a lot of fun. You would just get 80% as much of it each game.
