Billy Napier, Anthony Richardson under fire on social media as Florida struggles against Missouri
Florida is taking on Missouri at home Saturday and it has been a struggle for the Gators, especially offensively.
The Tigers’ Harrison Mevis kicked a 28-yard field goal with 20 seconds to play before halftime to tie the game at 10 heading to intermission.
The points came after a fumble late in the 2nd quarter by Florida QB Anthony Richardson.
In addition to the fumble, Richardson completed just 4-of-8 passes for 46 yards in the opening 30 minutes.
And as a team, the Gators managed less than 60 yards of total offense in the 1st half against a solid Tigers defense.
Still, and not surprisingly given the 1st-half performance, Napier and Richardson are getting heavily criticized on social media.
Napier’s play calling and clock management at the end of the 1st half particularly came under fire:
Holy shit Billy Napier just absolutely galaxy-brained the end of the half.

However this game turns out I’m gonna need a UF beat writer to make Billy Napier explain how he handled the end of the half. I have no idea what the explanation could be.

So Missouri, out of TOs, would've had to rush the FG unit out there with 20something seconds left in the first half. Except Florida coach Billy Napier called time for a reason that will be fascinating to hear. Missouri made the kick. Game tied at 10. Much respect for the Tigers.

Anthony Richardson has a long way to go before he’s even a good college quarterback let alone an NFL draft pick

Sometimes I wonder if Anthony Richardson has ever played football before
