Billy Napier met with reporters following Florida’s rough 39-36 OT loss to Arkansas Saturday afternoon.

The Gators really struggled defensively against an Arkansas team that fired its OC following Week 8’s 7-3 loss to Mississippi State. Kenny Guiton, who was named the interim OC, called a great game Saturday and the Gators suffered because of it.

Florida just lost to a team that has yet to win a Power 5 game this season, one that had lost 6 straight. Not to mention, this game was to clinch bowl eligibility and it was played in The Swamp.

To add salt to the wound, Saturday was Arkansas’ first ever win in Gainesville.

Napier told reporters Saturday “It’s not my job to preach patience (to fans). It’s my job to coach the football team.”

Fans in the comments took that how you’d expect. Plenty of them pointed out that Napier didn’t seem to do either Saturday.

Napier also noted that there is plenty of blame to go around.

Florida is going to find bowl eligibility tough to come by now. The Gators need one win but face off against LSU and Mizzou on the road before finishing the season against Florida State.

As of now, those are all top 15 teams in the country.
