BT Riopelle came up clutch for Florida Wednesday night, sending the Gators to a walk-off win over Alabama in the SEC Tournament. Riopelle’s blast also capped an 11-inning affair between the two sides, the second straight game on Wednesday to go into extra innings.

For much of the game, the two sides were evenly matched. Florida tied the game at 3-all in the bottom of the 8th inning with a lone run, and that’s how things stood going into the 11th inning.

In the top half of the frame, it looked like Alabama had potentially landed a knock-out punch to Florida. Tommy Seidl delivered a 3-run double to put the Crimson Tide up 6-3 entering the bottom of the 11th inning.

However, Alabama reliever Aidan Moza was instantly in trouble to start the bottom of the 11th. He gave up a lead-off single to Wyatt Langford. Alton Davis II quickly replaced Moza but singles by Jac Caglianone and Josh Rivera set the stage for BT Riopelle.

Down 0-2 in the count, Riopelle got a fastball over the plate that he drilled deep into the Hoover night sky for the walk-off 7-6 win by the Gators:

With the win, Florida advances to the Thursday evening game and will face the winner of Game 8 between Vanderbilt and Auburn. Meanwhile, Alabama falls into an elimination game against the loser of Vanderbilt and Auburn, and that game will be the second game played on Thursday.
