Chris Doering is a former Florida wide receiver but the ESPN analyst is still going to keep it real about the Gators.

That’s why Florida (3-2) being favored by 18.5 points against visiting Vanderbilt (2-4) after losing 33-14 at Kentucky has him floored.

During the latest edition of Pregaming The SEC, Doering offers some advice for anyone thinking of betting on the SEC East contest. Doering isn’t a fan of Florida betting line.

“Let me run to the betting window and take Vanderbilt. Florida shouldn’t be favored by 18.5 over anyone,” Doering said.

Florida had its 3-game winning streak snap in the loss to Kentucky. The Gators lost despite holding Kentucky quarterback Devin Leary to 69 passing yards. The issue was that the Wildcats went wild on the ground with 329 yards. Ray Davis rushed for an eye-popping 280 yards and 3 touchdowns against the porous Florida defense.

Vanderbilt has lost 4 games in a row since starting the season at 2-0. Vanderbilt most recently fell 38-21 against visiting Missouri. Vanderbilt’s defense has surrendered at least 36 points in each of the last 4 games.

Vanderbilt won last season’s meeting against Florida 31-24 in Nashville. Florida leads the all-time series 43-11-2 vs. Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt at Florida is slated for a 4 p.m. EST kickoff on Saturday (SEC Network).
