Florida has added a familiar face for Graham Mertz to the wide receiver room.

The Gators announced Wednesday that Wisconsin transfer wide receiver Chimere Dike has signed with UF to continue his college football career.

Dike arrives at Florida after 4 seasons with the Badgers. He played in 44 games from 2020-23 and will use the NCAA’s COVID-19 waiver to play in 2024 as a super senior.

Dike’s most productive season came in 2022, Mertz’s final season at UW. In 12 games, Dike led the Badgers in all major receiving categories with 47 catches for 689 yards and 6 touchdowns.

While Mertz opted for the transfer portal after last season, Dike stuck around in Madison for the first year under Luke Fickell. Dike’s production dipped in 2023, as he logged just 19 catches for 328 yards and 1 touchdown.

Florida is replacing leading wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, a 2022 transfer from Arizona State. Pearsall had 65 catches for 965 yards and 4 touchdowns in 2023. Eugene Wilson III is Mertz’s top returning target. Wilson had 61 catches for 538 yards and 6 touchdowns over 10 games in his freshman season.
