Reports indicate that the University of Florida is down a talented defensive tackle.

According to 247Sports, redshirt sophomore defensive tackle Jay-nard Bostwick has been granted a release, allowing schools to contact him, and will transfer. Bostwick hasn’t been with the team since the 2014 season ended, and he didn’t participate in spring practice due to “personal issues”.

The 6-3, 283-pound Bostwick is a former four-star prospect and was a big-time signee for former coach Will Muschamp in the 2013 signing class. He redshirted during the 2013 season and recorded three tackles in limited playing time in 2014.

Defensive line is one of Florida’s strongest positions, and the Gators have enough depth to compensate for the loss of Bostwick.
