Florida’s lightning-suspended season opener against Idaho has been ruled a no contest and will not be rescheduled it was announced Wednesday.

The Gators have agreed to pay the Vandals the full $975,000 guarantee and a game during the 2017 season has been scheduled.

“Like all Gators, I wish we could have played the game Saturday night, but I support the decision made by both athletic directors,” Florida coach Will Muschamp said in a press release. “As I said earlier this week, our focus is getting our players and team ready for Eastern Michigan and we are excited to get back out there in front of our passionate and loyal fans.”

The game’s officially a no-contest and no stats will be recorded. Florida will play an 11-game regular season.

“We looked at a number of options and, in the end, we both thought it was in the best interest of our student-athletes and football programs to play out the remainder of our respective schedules as they stand,” said Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley.

According to GatorZone.com, all single-game tickets purchased will be reimbursed.
