The Florida Gators are preparing for their 2021 season debut on Saturday against Florida Atlantic.

But, on Tuesday, it was reported that the team was losing some depth on the defense, specifically in the linebacker corps.

Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports reported via Twitter that LB Andrew Chatfield Jr. had entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal:

Chatfield played in all 12 games in 2020, recording 13 total tackles. He had 2.5 sacks and 4 tackles for a loss. In 2019, he played in 9 games and had 5 tackles. In 2018, he earned a redshirt.

Chatfield came to Florida as a 4-star defensive end in the 2018 class. He was the No. 13 defensive end in the class and the No. 38 overall recruit from the state of Florida, per the 247Sports composite rankings.
