Dan Mullen just won his biggest recruiting battle of the offseason. Thursday morning, Florida officially announced former Mississippi State defensive coordinator Todd Grantham would be joining Mullen in Gainesville next season. Terms of his new deal have not yet been released.

Grantham spent only one season in Starkville, but in his brief tenure at MSU he helped one of the biggest turnarounds in the nation on the defensive side of the ball. With an influx of junior college talent meshing with several freshmen and sophomore defenders, the MSU unit went from 110th in the nation in total defense in 2016 to 10th in the nation this season.

Before landing at Mississippi State, Grantham served as defensive coordinator at Louisville from 2014-16, at Georgia from 2010-13 and in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns from 2005-07.
