Florida clinched bowl eligibility in the final week of the 2021 regular season, beating rival Florida State to improve to 6-6.

Now, it seems the Gators will play a second-straight game against an in-state foe, as UCF is reportedly the bowl opponent for Florida.

Per columnist Mike Bianchi, the Gators are all but certain to meet the Knights in the Gasparilla Bowl in Tampa on Dec. 23:

Obviously, that’s not the bowl or opponent Florida fans had in mind after winning the SEC East and making it to a New Year’s 6 bowl game last year.

But, playing against an in-state opponent will be exciting, and it’ll be important for recruiting purposes for the Gators to win.
