Florida is proud of its “DBU” moniker and one of its great defensive backs in the last decade was on hand Saturday evening as the Gators tried to hold off LSU.

Ahmad Black, who was a strong safety on the 2008 BCS National Championship team, told Edward Aschoff of ESPN before the end of the game that it would end on an interception returned for a touchdown.

Of course, Black was prophetic as Brad Stewart Jr., a New Orleans native, intercepted Joe Burrow and returned it 25 yards for a touchdown and the final score in the 27-19 win. It was Burrow’s first interception of the season, Stewart’s second interception of the season, and the third turnover of the game for the Tigers proved especially costly.

Black was in town as Florida celebrated the 2008 national title team, and former QB Tim Tebow was inducted into the Ring of Honor.
