Tate Casey is returning to The Swamp.

On Monday, Florida announced that the former Gators tight end has joined the team’s IMG Sports Network as a sideline reporter for the 2018 season. Casey will join Mick Hubert and Lee McGriff on radio broadcasts this fall, while also working with Jeff Cardozo on pregame, halftime and postgame coverage.

“Since leaving Texas to play at UF, I have called Florida my home and the Gator Nation my family,” Casey said in a press release. “Having the opportunity to start a new chapter with Mick Hubert and his team is a huge privilege, and I look forward to being a part of Florida football in a different capacity that allows me to merge two of the biggest passions in my life, football and the University of Florida. I’m anxious to get to work and kick off the Dan Mullen era during a period where anticipation for Gator football is at an all-time high.”

Casey won national championships with Florida in 2006 and 2008. One of his most memorable moments came during 2006, when he caught Tim Tebow’s “jump pass” touchdown against LSU.

Over his four seasons with the Gators, Casey caught 28 passes for 370 yards and seven touchdowns. He also played baseball at Florida, including in 2005, when the Gators were the runners-up at the College World Series.

The Gators IMG Sports Network is the largest college sports network in the state. It has 32 total affiliates, including its flagship station, WRUF 103.7 FM in Gainesville. All games also air on FloridaGators.com.
