It’s less than a week before the bowl season concludes for the SEC and the Florida Gators have the honor of being the final SEC team to play in a bowl game prior to the National Championship.

Let’s take a look at the numbers for Florida and ECU to see where both teams shine and where both teams struggle as they prepare to face off against each other on Saturday in Birmingham, Ala., for the Birmingham Bowl.

The Good

9: Since Oct. 4, Florida’s pass defense has been outstanding. The Gators have given up just five passing touchdowns in an eight-game span, while picking off nine passes, including four interceptions against Jameis Winston in the regular-season finale.

367.3: It’s no secret how ECU likes to score points. The air attack is key for the Pirates, who ranked third nationally with 367.3 passing yards per game.

47: Demarcus Robinson’s 47 receptions leads the team. He’ll need just three more receptions in the Birmingham Bowl to become the first Florida WR since 2009 (Riley Cooper) to amass at least 50 receptions in a season.

The Bad

74: Florida had trouble with on-field discipline in 2014. The Gators were penalized 74 times in 11 games, giving them the third-highest penalties per game average in the SEC with 6.7.

5: Five times this season, ECU’s defense has surrendered at least 145 rushing yards and two touchdowns. One would assume UF running backs Matt Jones and Kelvin Taylor are in line for a big day on Saturday.

19.0: ECU hasn’t generated much pressure this season with just 19.0 sacks. Unfortunately for the Pirates, their offensive line hasn’t been much better, allowing 28.0 sacks on the year.
