Florida State had been to a bowl game for 36 straight seasons, the longest streak in the history of college football. The streak is no longer.

Florida defeated FSU 41-14 in Tallahassee on Saturday. The Seminoles finish 5-7, denying FSU of bowl eligibility and also snapping 41-straight seasons for Florida State without a losing season.

For first-year coach Dan Mullen’s squad, the most important streak might have been five consecutive losses to the Noles. All three streaks are history with Saturday’s game in the books.

The Seminoles won’t go bowling, but they can watch Florida (9-3) in the postseason. Mullen’s No. 11 Gators are likely in position for a New Year’s Six bowl.
