In the latest installment of the Saturday Down South podcast, host John Crist talked to veteran columnist Pat Dooley from the Gainesville Sun.

Florida coach Jim McElwain suspended seven of his players Sunday for the season opener against mighty Michigan, headlined by gifted wide receiver Antonio Callaway. Obviously, an already questionable aerial attack for the Gators will be affected.

Additionally, Dooley shared some of his thoughts on the quarterback battle currently going on at UF. Is Malik Zaire really the answer? Was Feleipe Franks not ready to be QB1? Can Luke Del Rio get himself back into the mix? Dooley also spoke about McElwain’s defense, which has helped him win games but suffered some major losses recently to the NFL Draft.
