The Florida Gators lost their starting quarterback Saturday night at Kentucky.

Feleipe Franks went down with what his head coach Dan Mullen considers is a season-ending injury. However, backup Kyle Trask came in and led Florida to a come-from-behind 29-21 win over the Wildcats.

How much will Florida miss Franks? Paul Finebaum was asked that question Sunday morning on SportsCenter.

“I think it hurts them, but I don’t think they were going to go very far even with him,” Finebaum said on SportsCenter. “As good of a kid that he is, and he’s overcome things. He nearly lost his job last year.

“Their problem is really the schedule. They just don’t seem tough enough to deal with what they have remaining. I’m talking about Auburn, at LSU and Georgia in Jacksonville. It hurts them from a leadership standpoint, but I don’t think it’s going to affect the overall win-loss record.”

While Florida will certainly miss Franks’ leadership in the locker room, Trask can be just as adequate running Dan Mullen’s offense.

However, as Finebaum points out, Florida’s remaining schedule certainly gets tougher. Florida hosts Auburn on Homecoming before traveling to LSU and playing Georgia in Jacksonville.

The most troubling aspect for Florida is the lack of a running game. The offensive line is having trouble making any running lanes for the backs. The Gators are currently 12th in the SEC in rushing averaging just 139 yards per game.
