Former Florida head coach Jim McElwain is back in coaching, this time in the Big Ten.

ESPN’s Chris Low reported Saturday night that McElwain has signed a deal with Michigan to coach the wide receivers; however, he’ll also be involved in helping coordinate the offense and developing the weekly game plan.

It’s been somewhat of a foregone conclusion over the last week that McElwain would join Michigan’s coaching staff, but now, it appears like it’s almost official.

McElwain finished his Florida coaching career 22-12, including back-to-back SEC East championships; however, he was fired in 2017 in the middle of this third season. While McElwain really made his name as Alabama’s OC (helped the Tide win a BCS National Championship) before becoming Colorado State’s head coach, he’s coached WRs at Eastern Washington, Montana State, Louisville and Michigan State.
