Ricky Pearsall will be facing Utah on the road for the first time since transferring from Arizona State. He talked about the matchup at a recent press conference.

Pearsall played for the Sun Devils from 2019-2021. Florida won in Gainesville last season, but will now travel to Salt Lake City for this season’s meeting.

The Utes are undefeated at home in the last two years. Pearsall predicted that Florida is going to be the school that changes that when the two programs face off.

While Pearsall is confident in his team’s ability, he noted how tough it can be to play at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

“Their fans do a really good job of creating a hostile environment,” said Pearsall. “They’re loud.”

Pearsall appeared in all 13 games for Florida last season. He recorded 661 yards receiving with 6 total touchdowns.

Utah has never actually beaten Florida in the times it has played the Gators. Billy Napier’s crew will be trying to keep it that way. Florida is 2-0 all-time against Utah.

Florida and Utah meet in Salt Lake City on Aug. 31 at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN.
