Oregon coach Willie Taggart has been linked with the coaching opening at Florida in recent days, but he’s reacted to the rumors of him being a candidate multiple times already.

Not only is Taggart a native of the Sunshine State, but he previously coached at South Florida where he led the Bulls for four years. The program went from 2-10 his first year, to 10-2 in 2016. The Ducks are currently 5-4 in his first season.

The Bradenton, Fla. native played at Western Kentucky where he was later the head coach for three seasons prior to USF.

Reports have surfaced in recent days about Florida contacting Taggart or his agent, but the coach has knocked down that notion.

His latest response, to Andrew Grief of the Oregonian, said he wanted to shut down the rumors of him going to Florida because his son texted him asking if the family would move again.
