Tim Tebow knows a thing or two about playing quarterback at Florida under Dan Mullen. Nobody in history has done it better.

Kyle Trask isn’t Tebow, but Trask is executing the Gators offense better than any quarterback since Tebow. Trask’s arm strength isn’t great, but his accuracy and decision-making has been spectacular.

On Saturday morning, Tebow was asked what Trask is excelling at in Gainesville.

“Well, this really doesn’t sound like a compliment, but it is,” Tebow explained. “He’s doing a great job at being a game manager. He’s taking what the defense gives him. He’s listening to Coach Mullen and going through his game plan. He’s not forcing it down the field. If it’s open on a backside slant, he’s taking it. If the running backs there, he’s checking it down and not forcing it down the field.

“He understands that I can’t have one throw that’s worth 14 points. I need to take what the defense gives me every time, and then, it’s opening up the deeper play down the field later in the game. He’s doing it extremely well, and that will be key against Auburn, one of the best defenses in the country.”

This get difficult for Trask Saturday going up against Auburn ferocious front-seven, arguably the best in college football. He’s completing over 77 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and two INTs since taking over for Feleipe Franks.

The Gators and Tigers kickoff from The Swamp at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS Sports.
