Trikweze Bridges, Florida’s leading tackler, declares for NFL Draft

Trikweze Bridges came to Florida as a veteran contributor at Oregon. He’ll leave for the 2025 NFL Draft after leading the Gators in tackles during the 2024 season.
Prior to coming to Gainesville, Bridges was a regular contributor for Oregon with 93 career tackles and 4 interceptions for the Ducks. Upon landing with Billy Napier and the Gators, he delivered a career-high 70 tackles this season and appeared all 13 games to lead Florida.
Bridges confirmed his decision in a note on social media:
“To my teammates, thank you for the brotherhood and memories that will last a lifetime. To the fans, your support made every game day special, and I’m honored to have represented both programs,” wrote Bridges.
“After prayer and thoughtful consideration, I’m excited to announce that I am declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft. Every step of this journey has prepared me for this moment, and I’m ready to give my all at the next level.”

The loss of Bridges is a big one, but it should not detract from the overall outlook for Florida moving forward. The Gators are returning some key young pieces from a roster that went 8-5 and finished the year on a particularly strong note with wins over LSU and Ole Miss included.
