Tyrese Samuel made history in Florida’s overtime win over Kentucky on Wednesday night.

Samuel was a huge reason why the Gators were able to pull off that upset win over the Wildcats. He accounted for 22 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks in UF’s 94-91 win.

According to Florida, Samuel is the first college player since Tim Duncan to record at least 22 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks in a road win over a top-10 team.

Duncan accomplished the feat in January of 1997. Duncan had 26 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks in a win over No. 10 Duke.

Samuel recorded 14 points and 10 rebounds after halftime as Florida mounted its second-half comeback. He was one of three Florida players who scored 20+ points in the win over Kentucky.

Samuel is in his first season with the Gators. He spent the first four years of his collegiate career at Seton Hall. So far this season, Samuel is averaging 13.6 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. He’s also shooting a career-high 57% from the floor.

Florida will be in action again on Saturday for another road game at Texas A&M.
