Urban Meyer has found a new role in college football that’s a familiar place for him.

Sports media insider Rudy Martzke reported that Meyer, the former Ohio State and Florida coach, is returning to FOX Sports’ Big Noon Kickoff. Meyer hinted at a possible return about 4 months ago when he was on a podcast with Tim May, a long-time Ohio State beat writer.

“That’s all still in conversation,” Meyer said. “I love FOX, I love their team and their guys. There’s nothing that’s been finalized yet, but I plan on going back and doing it. I really enjoyed that. I enjoyed celebrating those who play, celebrating those who coach it – it’s a great game. Not being the kind of ripping people to shreds but just celebrating this incredible game and most importantly, the players that do this game. I plan on being back in the fall doing something like that.”

Before Meyer took the head coaching job with the Jacksonville Jaguars last season, Meyer was a studio analyst for FOX’s college football pregame show, which rivals ESPN’s College GameDay and typically visits the marquee game in the Big Ten each week.
