The No. 7 Utah Utes lost a heartbreaker in The Swamp to the Florida Gators 29-26 Saturday night. It was the largest opening crowd in Florida football history with 90,799 fans in attendance.

Anthony Richardson put on a show for the Gators, combining for 274 yards and rushing for 3 touchdowns. That didn’t include an unbelievable pump-fake spin-move 2-point conversion that helped propel the Gators to victory.

However, Utah didn’t seemed too rattled by the environment. A couple Utah players puked on the field and sideline, and some players were cramping in the second half.

Utah star pass catcher Brant Kuithe had a huge game, catching 9 passes for 105 yards and 1 touchdown, and following the loss to the Gators, Kuithe said The Swamp had zero impact.

“It was none. We worked for a couple weeks on crowd noise. It was not a factor at all, at least for the offense,” Kuithe said, via On3’s Nick Nick del la Torre. “The snap count. We had a couple false starts but I think that was more technical. It had no effect on us.”

Florida prides itself on one of the best home field advantages in college football, but according to Kuithe, it didn’t really impact Utah’s offense. The Utes offense did move the ball at-will in the second half, and Kuithe was virtually uncoverable at times.
