As expected, four-star guard Patrick Allen (Reisterstown, Md.) signed with Georgia over Tennessee on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-5, 286-pound Allen was one of the only high-profile players choosing between SEC East schools on National Signing Day.

Entering the day, the Bulldogs held four offensive tackle commitments, but didn’t have a commitment from a guard. UGA does return all four of its two-deep at the position from 2014, and all four have at least two years of eligibility remaining, so Allen is likely to redshirt in 2015.

Tennessee entered the day expecting to sign four-star OT Drew Richmond, a late decommitment from Tennessee, but don’t have a guard as part of the ’15 class.

The Georgia offensive line was one of the most dominant in the SEC a year ago despite not placing a single player on the first-team All-SEC according to the Associated Press. The Bulldogs are losing senior center David Andrews and senior right tackle Kolton Houston, but should once again pave the way for running backs like Nick Chubb, Keith Marshall and Sony Michel this fall.
