Benjamin Watson is eagerly awaiting Roger Goodell’s response following the controversial ending to the NFC Championship Game.

If you missed the game, New Orleans was stopped near the goal line with less than two minutes in the game thanks in part to a terrible no-call. A Rams defender basically took out a Saints receiver before the ball arrived and no penalty was called despite at least one referee looking right at the action.

You could potentially argue between a pass interference or illegal contact call but it’s hard to fathom how nothing was called on the play. The Saints were then held to a field goal, which the Rams countered with in the closing seconds to send the game into overtime. The Rams then won the game 26-23 in overtime.

Here is the controversial play that resulted in a no-call:

The NFL was reportedly planning on releasing a statement acknowledging the blown call but never did. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has yet to release a statement, either.

That’s where Watson comes in. The Saints tight end posted this message on Twitter that has gone viral since his posting:

“Commissioner Goodell. We all realize that football is an imperfect game, played, coached and officiated by imperfect people. What occurred last Sunday in New Orleans though, was outside of that expected and accepted norm. Your continued silence on this matter is unbecoming of the position you hold, detrimental to the integrity of the game and disrespectful and dismissive to football fans everywhere. From the locker room to Park Ave, accountability is what makes our league great. Lead by example. We are waiting.”

Are you surprised the league has not acted with any comment at all?
