Former Auburn star turned NBA broadcaster Charles Barkley has come under fire for comments he’s made in the past. Now there’s a new example that critics are focused on following a recent episode of TNT’s “Inside the NBA.”

Commenting on highlights from a Los Angeles Lakers game featuring former Georgia star Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Barkley said, “Georgia is the only school in the world that they named their mascot after the women down there.”

Host Ernie Johnson Jr., a Georgia alumnus, replied, “Oh, that’s so totally uncalled for,” and later added, “Not even gonna dignify that with a response.”

This caused some to bring back comments Barkley made in 2014 about women in San Antonio.

“Some big ol’ women down there (in San Antonio) … that’s a gold mine for Weight Watchers,” he said at the time, while discussing the Spurs, per the New York Post.

Barkley continued, “Victoria is definitely a secret (in San Antonio) … they can’t wear no Victoria’s Secret down there… They wear bloomers down there … ain’t nothing skimpy down there.”

Those comments were met with call-outs by organizations including, the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance and the Obesity Action Coalition.
