Chris Doering was one of the handful of analysts that picked Florida to upset Georgia on Saturday, and after the game he gave his thoughts on what the win means for the 2 programs.

While Florida came into the game scorching hot and looking ready for an upset win, the Bulldogs had their way with the Gators all night and cruised to a win.

Doering believes the win for Georgia represents a large gap in Georgia’s talent compared to Florida’s, and the rest of the country for the most part.

“I picked Florida, I’ll admit I made that mistake,” Doering said. “I thought Florida not only had a chance to win the game, I thought it would at least be competitive, if anything. But to me, this was an illustration of just how far the gap is in talent between where Georgia is, and where Florida is. And where Georgia is with most teams in college football. They are better, they have an incredibly talented group of players that’s extremely well-coached, they’re all unselfish and do their job to the best of their ability. It’s fun to watch. … Florida couldn’t stop the run and it wasn’t anything fancy. … This is all about Georgia and really not about Florida right now, I was impressed with how they handled their business.”

Through 8 games, it seems clear that Georgia is one of the top-3 teams in the country and seems prepared to collect a 3rd-straight championship. There were certainly some doubts coming into the season as to whether or not they were of the same caliber of last year’s team, but the Bulldogs have cleared up those doubts.

Georgia is now set to begin a November stretch that could prove just how good it is. The Bulldogs face Missouri next week before taking on Tennessee the week after.
