Chris Mortensen weighed in on Todd Monken’s interview process with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and offered some thoughts on what he thinks Monken’s plans are for next season.

Mortensen spoke on “The Buck Belue Show” on 680 The Fan in Atlanta, and said he expects the Georgia offensive coordinator to be offered the offensive coordinator job in Tampa.

“If it’s going to happen, it should happen immediately, like soon,” said Mortensen, the ESPN NFL insider. “I would think Monken with the Buccaneers is a natural and I’ve heard that he interviewed extremely well. So I’d be surprised if the Bulldogs are not replacing their offensive coordinator.”

Tampa Bay announced earlier this week that Monken interviewed for a job he previously held for 3 seasons. Monken also this offseason interviewed for the same position with the Baltimore Ravens.

Monken has been the offensive coordinator and play caller for Georgia for the last 3 seasons, and Georgia this past season averaged 41.1 points per game and 501 yards per contest.
