Danny Kanell has had enough of the Orange Bowl, and for good reason.

For much of the 2023 season, Florida State and Georgia were among the 4 best teams in the country. The Seminoles even finished the season undefeated as ACC champs while Georgia suffered one loss in the SEC Championship.

Both teams were ultimately left out of the College Football Playoff with the injury to Jordan Travis dooming FSU. The Seminoles eventually suffered a wave of opt-outs that left the program severely overmatched against Georgia.

The Bulldogs took out their frustrations in a predictable fashion, building a 42-3 halftime lead in the Orange Bowl. With the game winding down, Kanell has seen enough after Georgia continues to destroy the Seminoles.

“This game is a joke, right? And yet this was so predictable that there were going to be takes like this from the idiots out there trying to crow and act like they’re pounding their chest and saying ‘See? this means the committee got it right.’ Man, the idiocy is on full display,” said Kanell.

“This game means nothing, this is basically a glorified scrimmage taking place which is essentially all of bowl season is scrimmages.”

Kanell went on to shred the entire system as meaningless but eventually proposed a unique twist to fix bowl games. His idea proposes playing bowl games in Week 0 and having the CFP games as the only matchups left in the postseason.

“Save your takes. Bowl season is broken, there’s only one way to fix them. It’s really to make Week 0 bowl week,” Kanell explained. “You’ll get full participation, the games will matter and we can have a solution. Everybody will play. But as far as this game? It means nothing, so stop coming at me with those lame takes.”
