D’Andre Swift has shaken off an early-season injury limitation to turn on the production in recent weeks.

The Georgia running back has been one of the best in the country the last three games with 45 carries for 446 yards and four TDs. That’s more than half of his production for the entire season as he’s up to 808 rushing yards, with eight scores.

It’s not much of a surprise for teammates though, who have seen him excel in practice, especially with his signature hesitation move where he appears to slow, or change directions, only to run past a defender.

“We call it the dead leg,” CB Deandre Baker said for this week’s Bulldogs Game Day television show. “When he runs and stops on a dime, we call that the dead leg. He does it all day in practice, that’s his signature move. You go this way, he’s got the quickness to stop on a dime and change directions.”

Swift delivered a 77-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter of Georgia’s rout of the Auburn in a 27-10 victory. That came just a week after he had an 83-yard run at Kentucky. That meant he’s the first Georgia player with multiple 75-yard TD runs since Herschel Walker in 1980.

Swift had a career-high 186 yards rushing on just 17 carries overall against Auburn.
