Throughout the off-season, there have been some question marks on who is going to run the football for the Georgia Bulldogs this year.

The running backs have had to deal with some injuries throughout the spring and into the summer. One of those guys is Branson Robinson, who rushed for 330 yards and 3 touchdowns as a freshman. He is expected to have a bigger role heading into his sophomore year.

According to his position coach, Dell McGee, Robinson has made some major strides as of late.

“First off, Branson had a really tremendous spring,” McGee said. “Unfortunately, he got injured during the spring ball, and he has done a really really good job of going to treatment and taking the mental part of his game to the next level. He physically couldn’t do anything, but he has been a really good leader. He has been exceptional in the classroom, and has been a mentor for the younger guys. I am very pleased with his progress and seeing him back on the field moving a little bit.”

Besides Robinson, senior Kendall Milton and senior Daijun Edwards both figure to be in contention of running the ball for the two-time defending champions.

Georgia opens its season on September 2 at home against Tennessee Martin.
