Florida State clowned by fans, media after suffering most-lopsided bowl loss of all time
Florida State fell 63-3 to Georgia in the Orange Bowl on Saturday night.
That means FSU now owns the all-time college football record for most lopsided loss in a bowl game. The 60-point loss broke the previous record, which was set by Georgia’s 58-point win over TCU in last year’s national title game.
After picking up an early field goal to make it 14-3 in the second quarter, the Noles never got it going offensively. Quarterback Brock Glenn completed just 9-of-26 passes and threw 2 interceptions in what was his second career start.
FSU rushed for just 63 yards on 26 attempts. The Noles were missing their top three running backs from the regular season in this game. Ja’Khi Douglas, who normally plays receiver for Florida State, led the team with 46 yards on eight carries.
As bad as Florida State was offensively, the defense may have been worse. Georgia put up 42 points in the first half, including 35 in the second quarter alone. The Bulldogs averaged 10.9 yards per play before the break and 8.9 yards per play for the entire game.
Here’s some of the reaction to Florida State’s blowout loss:
Georgia 63, Florida State 3 in the Orange Bowl.
– Bulldogs win 7th straight bowl game, the longest active streak in the country.
– Georgia now owns 2 biggest blowouts in bowl history.
– Georgia has outscored its last two bowl opponents 128-10.
– FSU's 60-point loss is…

I wonder what the most lopsided season-ending loss is for an undefeated college football team.

This team cried that they got snubbed then went ahead and had the biggest loss in bowl game history ??????

I don’t care how many players opted out. That was the record for biggest bowl loss ever, of any combination of teams of any bowl game, in history. Injuries/opt outs happen every year. You don’t get the biggest loss of college football bowl game history only due to opt outs. #FSU
