Former Georgia RB D’Andre Swift is reportedly on the move on Day 3 of the 2023 NFL Draft!
Heading into Friday’s coverage of Rounds 2 and 3, reports broke that Swift was being shopped by the Detroit Lions. Swift’s interest in a change of scenery stemmed from the Lions signing free agent David Montgomery and drafting Alabama RB Jahmyr Gibbs with the 12th overall pick.
On Saturday, NFL insider Ian Rapoport broke the news that Swift has indeed been traded, and he will join a number of former Bulldogs in the process. According to Rapoport, Swift has been acquired by the Philadelphia Eagles in a package that includes draft pick compensation going back to Detroit.
Rapoport reports Philadelphia gave up a 2025 4th-round pick along with the Eagles moving up in the 7th round of this year’s draft.

D’Andre Swift’s impact in Philadelphia
When healthy, there’s no questioning Swift’s ability as he’s averaged 4.6 yards per carry and 7.7 yards per catch across 3 NFL seasons. Unfortunately, he has missed some time every year since breaking into the league during the 2020 season.
He should get an immediate shot to start at RB for the Eagles alongside QB Jalen Hurts and WR AJ Brown after the team lost Miles Sanders in free agency. He’s also the latest piece to the “Philadelphia Bulldogs” with the Eagles taking on a decided Dawg flavor each of the past two drafts.
