Georgia 5-star OL commit reportedly decides to not sign early after rival makes strong push
Georgia’s top offensive commitment reportedly won’t be signing with the Bulldogs during the Early Signing Period.
Chad Simmons of Rivals is reporting that Broderick Jones, a 247Sports Composite 5-star offensive tackle out of Lithonia, Georgia, will be waiting to sign until February’s National Signing Day. It appears that rival Auburn has made a strong enough push to keep Jones from signing with Georgia. Simmons reports Jones will visit both AU and UGA in January before signing in February.
Listed at 6-5, 275 pounds, Jones is the No. 2 offensive tackle, No. 3 Georgia product and No. 19 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2020. He committed to the Dawgs back on April 26, 2018. His highlights can be viewed below:
I confirmed it once again today. Five-star OL Broderick Jones doe not plan to sign in the Early Signing Period. He is a #UGA commit and the #Dawgs tried. They sent the papers, but he does not plan to sign. Will visit #Auburn and UGA in January. #RivalsNSD https://t.co/1yqUorLEGY pic.twitter.com/wwBXjUCxH3
