The Georgia Bulldogs brand took center stage during Thursday night’s NFL Draft from Las Vegas.

The defending National Champions saw an NFL Draft record 5 defensive players picked in the first round. Perhaps the biggest surprise is Nakobe Dean’s name not being called Thursday night. The Bulldogs star linebacker will have to wait Friday night in order to be drafted, and that shouldn’t take long.

Georgia had the first pick of the first round and the last pick of the first round, with 3 others sandwiched in between:

  • No. 1: Travon Walker, Jacksonville Jaguars
  • No. 13: Jordan Davis, Philadelphia Eagles
  • No. 22: Quay Walker, Green Bay Packers
  • No. 28: Devonte Wyatt, Green Bay Packers
  • No. 32: Lewis Cine, Minnesota Vikings

The Bulldogs stockpiling first-round picks isn’t really a surprise at all.

Georgia’s defense allowed just 10.2 points per game in 2021, including allowing under 80 yards rushing per game and under 190 yards per game passing. The Bulldogs finished second behind Wisconsin in total defense allowing teams just 267 yards per game.

Yes, Georgia’s defense is losing a ton of talent ahead of 2022; however, it’s also getting some key pieces back, including sack leader Robert Beal.
