The Georgia Bulldogs have won the Southeastern Conference’s Eastern Division for the 5th time in the last 6 years.

Georgia defeated Mississippi State Saturday night 45-19 in Starkville to win the division, as the Bulldogs remain undefeated and improved to 10-0 overall and 7-0 in SEC play.

Earlier Saturday, LSU won the SEC West, and the Bulldogs will face the Tigers in Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game on December 3, 2022. Georgia and LSU will meet for the 5th time in the SEC Championship Game, 2nd most common conference title matchup.

Georgia is ranked No. 1 in the College Football Playoff Rankings, and the Bulldogs have defeated ranked opponents No. 11 Oregon and No. 1 Tennessee. The dominant 27-13 win over the Volunteers was certainly a statement and elevated UGA to the top-ranked team in the nation.

UGA has Kentucky and Georgia Tech remaining over the next 2 weeks to close out the regular season.

While Georgia’s national championship run in 2021 is attributed more to the defense, 2022’s run (so far) can be attributed more to the offense, thanks to the leadership and difference-making ability of quarterback Stetson Bennett and tight end Brock Bowers.

Bennett was once again the star for Georgia Saturday night with 4 total touchdowns.
