Daquayvious Sorey, a top 100 recruit, who had been committed to Georgia for more than a year, has announced that his recruitment is now 110 percent open.

He shared appreciation to the Georgia coaching staff for the opportunity, and the Georgia fans for their support.

“I realize that this opportunity only comes once in a lifetime, and after much thought and consideration and prayer, I would like to experience the full process by reopening my recruitment,” Sorey said.

Sorey is rated the No. 97 recruit in this class, the No. 14 wide receiver in this class, and the No. 20 player in the state of Florida, according to the 247Sports Composite. He was recruited to Georgia by Scott Cochran and Cortez Hankton, who recently left for LSU. He has a reported 19 offers.

Here’s Sorey’s scouting report from 247Sports:

Three-sport athlete (football, basketball, and track and field). Took fifth in the high jump (5-11 3/4) at the FHSAA 1A state track meet as a sophomore. Ran an 11.54 100 and long jumped 20-3 during sophomore season, as well.

2021: Transferred into Chipley (Fla.) from nearby Graceville. Got snaps on both sides of the ball. Credited with 753 yards of total offense (546 receiving) and eight touchdowns in 13 games. He also returned a pair of punts for touchdowns while totaling 28 tackles, nine pass break ups and four interceptions on defense.

Sorey’s cousin, Xavian, signed with Georgia as part of the 2021 signing class.

Earlier this week, Georgia also lost 4-star 2023 CB Kayin Lee, a native of Ellenwood, Georgia, as he also decommitted.
