It was a once-in-a-generation game and Georgia made sure to commemorate the big win over Notre Dame with a highlight reel.

Beginning with ESPN’s “College GameDay,” which brought its analysts and personalities to campus on Friday, and through the “SEC on CBS” primetime show Saturday night, the town was abuzz with excitement as some fans flocked to Athens for the first time in years. CBS analyst Gary Danielson even called the atmosphere “bigger than a (College Football) Playoff” game, while play-by-play voice Brad Nessler said he couldn’t recall a crowd as “jacked up” for the first play.

The video includes images from the Georgia locker room, and audio from radio and television broadcasts.

Many recalled their experience two years ago at Notre Dame, which was a coming out party for new starter Jake Fromm, who has since become a fan favorite at quarterback. Notre Dame fans also enjoyed the experience as they looked to enjoy the tailgating and Southern hospitality known across the SEC. Georgia fans, meanwhile, looked to re-pay the favor they were treated in South Bend, Indiana.

Of course, the new red lights in the fourth quarter and shining red and gold helmets under the night sky made it a picturesque horizon.
