One Georgia senator is pushing back on the College Football Playoff selection committee and the decision to leave the Bulldogs outside of the top 4.

The senator, Colton C. Moore of District 53, penned and shared a letter to chairman Boo Corrigan and the entire CFP committee recently. While Moore is not the first person to cite frustrations with this year’s Playoff field, most of the frustrations have been directed at Florida State’s omission.

Moore referenced that omission in his letter, calling the committee’s recent decision “a historic failure,” particularly for the people of Georgia and Florida. He went on to reference and cite Georgia’s recent string of success and dominance prior to the loss to Alabama in Atlanta.

“Your mandate is to send the four best teams in the country to the Playoff, and instead you have created a political mess with a decision based in bias to weaker conferences and teams who want nothing to do playing the Georgia Bulldogs,” writes Moore.

The senator went on to describe the decision as a “grave error” that Georgians will be forced to live with for generations. He even cited a potential to have the committee replaced by Artificial Intelligence in the future “because the current intelligence has caused an undue embarrassment” to the sport.

“In light of the CFP expansion in the 2024 season and as a remedy to avoid massive liabilities, people of Georgia request you allow the Orange Bowl to be activated as a College Football Playoff game and therefore delay the national championship by one week or otherwise make accommodations,” Moore concludes.
