A Georgia standout defender is being investigated on a rape allegation, according to Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald.

Weiszer reports that Athens-Clarke County police are investigating an allegation of rape against Georgia outside linebacker Adam Anderson. Weiszer spoke to ACC police Lt. Shaun Barnett who said no arrest has been made and did not know if charges would be filed.

According to the report, a 21-year-old female told police she went to an Athens residence after midnight early Friday morning, Oct. 29 (between 12 a.m. and 7 a.m.) after having drinks and “awoke with Anderson penetrating her while she was lying in bed.”

The woman filed her report at 2:39 p.m. on Friday the 29th. Georgia played SEC East rival Florida in Jacksonville the following day, Saturday, Oct. 30.

Anderson leads the UGA defense with 5 sacks and has been projected as a potential first-round NFL Draft pick.
