Greg McElroy admits that Georgia’s schedule this season doesn’t have many obvious hurdles. In fact, McElroy suggests that Georgia should be a heavy favorite in every single game.

In terms of what he calls games that are a “significant test” for the Bulldogs, McElroy reached and settled on “one and a half, maybe.” Perhaps South Carolina and Florida catch the Bulldogs at the right time, and may have an upset potential in the works.

McElroy said the SEC East realistically is Georgia at the top, and then a big gap, and then Tennessee and the rest of the teams. However, the game in Neyland Stadium will be “by far, the toughest test of the season.”

“Let’s say Tennessee’s rolling, let’s say Tennessee’s hot,” he said. “Remember, you lose a game in the division, then you’re not just 1 game behind, you’re a game and a half behind because of the tiebreaker the team you lost to has.”

Because of all those scenarios, and realities, McElroy said may be why Georgia has already circled the Tennessee game, even in May.
