Jordan Rodgers admits that he believed Stetson Bennett was a liability last season, until the very end.

This year, there’s a difference, and Rodgers spent some time with “Crain & Company” to explain why Georgia doesn’t have enough playmakers.

“They don’t have much talent outside of Brock Bowers,” he said. “When you really look at this roster … it has now been 27 quarters that a wide receiver has a reception of longer than 30 yards. And when you flip on the film, the reason is nobody’s getting open. They don’t have speed on the outside, and Stetson does an unbelievable job at using his eyes to manipulate defenders.”

Rodgers added that Bennett does a good job of manipulating defenders with his eyes and shoulders, but still, Bowers and Darnell Washington aren’t creating much separation; they’re making contested catches.

“It’s not really the lack of scheme, I think it’s the lack of playmakers that are getting open,” he said. “… I think Stetson’s doing a really good job of manufacturing chunk plays because there’s not many big plays that are available right now.”
