Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs take on no. 20 Kentucky this week in a very important SEC East matchup.

The Wildcats may not historically be in Georgia’s wheelhouse, but the Wildcats have played exceptional football this season against, admittedly, not-so-great opponents. But Kentucky did dominate last week’s game against Florida and is looking as good as they have all year heading into Week 6 against the No. 1 Bulldogs.

And especially with Georgia not quite looking as dominant as they have in past years, the Wildcats are looking for a monumental upset in Athens Saturday. Smart spoke on the Wildcats at the SEC’s weekly teleconference Wednesday.

Here’s what he had to say:

“Every game is going to be tight with them, they do a good job of shrinking the game,” Smart said. “There’s not as many plays with the offensive identity they’ve created. I think they’re one of the last in the country in terms of possessions and they do an unbelievable job of running the ball. I think they’re the most balanced team maybe in the country in terms of explosives, they’ve got explosive passes and explosive runs at a rate that I don’t ever remember being that balanced. They create that and they do a good job of that. And most of their games end up playing that way. Little tighter and similar to us at times.”

Kentucky RB Ray Davis is the man to stop Saturday for UGA. He had a downright magical performance against Florida last week, rushing for 280 yards with 4 total combined touchdowns. He’s looked like one of the better backs in the SEC this season and could even be in the back of the race for Heisman right now.

The Bulldogs and Wildcats will kick off at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
