Georgia RB D’Andre Swift re-injured a shoulder injury against Georgia Tech on Saturday in the 52-7 victory over Georgia Tech.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart said Swift had been battling a shoulder injury, and “should be fine,” in comments to ESPN’s Allison Williams.

In his post-game press conference, Smart said, “We think he’ll be fine. He has a shoulder contusion. We think he’ll be back.”

Swift had 10 carries for 73 yards in the win, with a long run of 18 yards.

The injury happened on a “Wild Dawg” carry and it also resulted in his second fumble of the game.

Swift was just part of a dominant rushing attack for Georgia as the Bulldogs churned out 219 yards on 40 carries.

Swift’s value to Georgia is high, as he entered Saturday as the team’s leading rusher with 1,130 yards on 183 carries, with 7 TDs.

Georgia is in need of playmakers for next week’s game against LSU for the SEC Championship. WR Lawrence Cager is out, and WR George Pickens will miss the first half because of an ejection because of a fight in the Tech game.
