The Georgia Bulldogs are off to a 3-0 start and are gearing up for a top 20 matchup against Mississippi State.

Georgia has been dealing with injuries to WR Michael Chigbu, LB Rashad Roundtree, and DB Malkom Parrish lately, and head coach Kirby Smart provided an update on each player Monday.

Smart said that Chigbu will be returning to practice while Roundtree is still going through concussion protocol.

“Chigbu should be good to go. We expect him out there today,” said Smart. “We’ll find out more. Rashad has been going through some concussion things that we’ve had to handle protocol with. Hopefully we get Rashad back soon. Chigbu will be out there today.”

Smart said he’ll get a look at Parrish today and hopefully have a better idea on if he will play on Saturday.

“We hope to see today,” Smart said. “Again, we’re going off last time I saw him do anything was really Thursday. Today we’re going to be able to do more with him. We hope to be able to get him back this week. I can’t tell you anything until after practice today.”

Smart believes the biggest issue for the Bulldogs secondary without Parrish is depth.

“Depth. Simple. We just don’t have a lot of depth,” explained Smart. “I think that’s important to have in the secondary where you play sometimes upwards of 80, 90 snaps. You got five and six guys on the field. When you don’t have extra guys to sub and play, it makes you very thin.”

The Bulldogs are up to No. 11 in the AP Poll and would like to have everybody available when taking on No. 17 MSU and QB Nick Fitzgerald. Kickoff for Saturday night’s contest is set for 7 pm EST on ESPN.
