Lewis Cine, a first-team All-SEC selection at safety for the national champion Georgia Bulldogs, is off the board at the NFL Draft.

Cine was taken No. 32 overall by the Minnesota Vikings.

Cine turned in his best performance on the biggest stage. Cine was Georgia’s leading tackler with 73 total stops, and also had a team-high 9 pass breakups. He was named the Defensive MVP of the College Football Playoff Championship Game, with seven tackles, including 1 tackle for a loss, and a pass breakup.

A native of Cedar Hill, Texas, Cine was a 4-star prospect and rated the No. 3 safety nationally and No. 11 prospect in the state of Texas after he helped his high school team win a state title his senior season. That was after he transferred there from Everett High School in Massachusetts, where he was named the state Defensive Player of the Year as a junior.

Cine didn’t waste any time making an impact at Georgia as he played in all 14 games as a freshman in 2019, and started the final 2 games.

NFL talent evaluators see Cine playing near the line of scrimmage, but he impressed at the NFL Scouting Combine with 4.37 time in the 40-yard dash, which was just three-hundredths slower than the fastest safety, and Cine also and posted a position-best 11-foot, 1-inch broad jump.
