On Friday, Yahoo! Sports released a report detailing the FBI’s investigation into the shady world of college basketball recruiting.

Several big-name coaches, players and programs were listed, and the punishment for the offenders could be severe.

When asked about the report on Friday, Georgia coach Mark Fox (who was not named in the report) said he thinks there could be a lot more coming before all is said and done (via Rivals.com):

“My reaction, it’s probably just the tip of the iceberg, to be honest about it. I’m not surprised, sadly, I really am not,” Fox said before the Bulldogs’ practice Friday afternoon. “I have no idea of what impact it will have on our game. I wish I could say it’s not going to have an impact on our game, but I do not have great confidence that’s going to happen. We’ll see where it goes.”

What penalties occur in the coming days and weeks remains to be seen, but the college basketball landscape could be drastically altered by the time March Madness comes around.

Whether any SEC programs get caught up in the punishments (Alabama, Kentucky and South Carolina were named) has yet to be determined, but it’ll be something to watch moving forward.
