Peter Burns doesn’t see a scenario where Georgia would slip to an 8-4 team because of the way Kirby Smart has built the program for sustained success.

Burns was a guest on “Next Round Live” and explained what he’s seen from the Bulldogs. Burns said Smart has done a good job in explaining the roster turnover that happened since last year’s national championship.

“It’s drastically different than last year’s team,” said Burns, the SEC Network host. “… To appreciate that a lot of these guys haven’t been in these positions, right. Stetson (Bennett) has, a couple of these players have been there, but for playmakers, this is brand-new for a lot of these guys, and they should be celebrated that way.”

Burns projected a win on Monday, and said that would give Smart 2 titles by the age of 47. And Burns noted that Georgia only recently tapped into the transfer portal after it didn’t last season.

“How is Kirby ever going to miss here,” Burns said. “How is he ever going to have a season in which he goes, we’re back to 8-4. I don’t see that anytime soon in Athens.”
